College Football Week 2 Predictions
No. 14 USC @ No. 13 Stanford
An early season Pac-12 showdown. The Cardinal lost a lot from their defense and offensive line of a year ago. USC has a new head coach in Steve Sarkisian. Stanford keeps longest home winning streak in the nation alive…Stanford 28, USC 14.
No. 7 Michigan State @ No. 3
The best game of Week 2 pits one of the nation’s best defenses against one of the most prolific offenses in all of college football. Early in the season, defenses usually have an advantage…just not when they are playing 2,000 miles from home…Oregon 33, Michigan State 21.
Florida Atlantic @ No. 2 Alabama
After a ho-hum performance in their opener, the Tide will unleash a whooping on FAU. Head coach Nick Saban can get a look at QB Jake Coker…Alabama 42, FAU 7.

Northern Illinois @ Northwestern
It’s the second game of the post-Jordan Lynch era. Drew Hare, Matt McIntosh, and Anthony Maddie all played QB in the season-opening win over Presbyterian. The San Jose State offense, led by QB Blake Jurich (22-for-25, 250 yds., 3 TDs), tore up North Dakota last week in a 42-10 win. This week, the defense will be a little better. Auburn will smoke the Spartans at home…Auburn 56, San Jose State 20.
San Diego State @ No. 21 North Carolina
The Tar Heels have won seven of their last eight games dating back to last season. Look for the streak to continue as head coach Larry Fedora’s squad entertains the Aztecs Saturday night…North Carolina 49, San Diego State 21.
Michigan @ No. 16 Notre Dame
It will be the end of an era on Saturday night. Two of college football’s most prolific programs will battle for the last time in a long time. BYU @ Texas
New Longhorn head coach Charlie Strong and company get a real test from BYU Saturday. The Cougars stomped UConn, 35-10, last week and have one of the country’s most underrated QBs in Tacoma Hill, who threw for 308 yards and three TDs in last week’s win. Take the Longhorns at home…Texas 31, BYU 28.
Virginia Tech @ No. 8 Ohio State
