The Travers Stakes at Saratoga Springs is a horse race involving American Grade II Thoroughbred horses, and is held every year during the month of August. Travers Stakes in Saratoga Springs, NY is the eldest most important purebred horse race in USA. The first Travers race happened in 1864 located at Saratoga Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. The horses on the race are two years old and who can race six and a half furlongs on dirt.
 Children below 12 years old are entitled to free admission when accompanied by an adult. Reserved seating is also available for the 2011 races. Those who intend to watch the game should be aware of the first-come first-served basis for seating available for those who do not make use of the reserved seats. Free benches are available at the Grandstand, Clubhouse, and trackside apron, but picnic areas are also available at the backyard picnic area.
For the longest time, it has been a tradition at the Saratoga Stakes that any customer who places a newspaper or clothing on a bench or picnic table, it is understood that these seats and tables are being used. Everyone’s courtesy with this matter is appreciated, as it’s important to be considerate with other people who are also watching the races.
There is a turf terrace dining room on fourth floors of the Clubhouse. The trackside dining area also offers a multi-level dining room where viewers can watch all the racing action through television monitors. The proper attire must be observed: no shorts or jeans are allowed.

The breakfast buffet takes place every 7:00am - 9:30 am on a racing days at The Porch is located in the clubhouse area.
