2012 College Basketball Odds
February, 2012 - As the 2012 NCAA Basketball tournament beckons, the oddsmakers have come out with their list of
favorites. As generally is the trend with such lists, last year’s champions figure high on the list but they are
not the favorites. Instead, North Carolina have been favored by most book makers to win the title in 2012.
If we revisit last year’s tournament we will see that North Carolina performed exceptionally well till they
lost to Kentucky in the March Madness tourney. This year the Tar Heels are expected to be even stronger
as they welcome back exceptional talents like Tyler Zeller, Harrison Barnes, and Johns Henson.

They will also be joined this season by the star signings James McAdoo and P.J. Hairston. With the new acquisitions the Tar Heels have boosted their forward line and will be quite a threat to any of the team’s defense. According to Bodog, odds of North Carolina winning are 3/1. Next on the favorites list are the Kentucky Wildcats.
The Wildcats ended the run of the Tar Heels last year before being stopped in their tracks by the eventual champions Connecticut Huskies. That Kentucky features so high on the list may come as a surprise to many, especially since they lost some of their biggest talents such as Brandon Knight and DeAndre Liggins to the big guns in the NBA.
