MLB 2012 World Series Lines and Odds
Texas Rangers
Texas Rangers are very much in the race as they are doing about everything right. If there is any perfect team that is complete in baseball then it has to be the Texas Rangers. The Rangers are never giving up a game and are scoring runs in bunches with their fantastic bullpen.
The fantastic five relievers of the team, which doesn’t include Koji Uehara, are considered remarkable for the team especially at this critical juncture. They are stealing basis, getting a reasonable amount of pitching and getting the outs as per their expectations and hitting the home runs. Nelson Cruz has alone hit six home runs followed by Adrian Beltre who has hit three. The only concern that the Rangers have is they have not been consistent in getting a strong starting pitching.
St. Louis Cardinals
The cardinals need all sorts of credit in the playoffs, as no one had believed that they Cardinals would have stood short against the Phils especially when Chris Carpenter was going to pitch on short rest over the course of this series. The Cardinals have really been the team who have the longest shot on the board and are strong enough to win the World Series. The Cardinals were the underdogs against the Atlanta Braves just as they were in the NLCS and the NLDS.
The atrocious start against the Milwaukee Brewers didn’t make much of a difference to the Cardinals as the bats pounded over seven runs per game on an average, which also includes the two double-digit outbursts at Miller Park, the toughest place to play in the game. The Cardinals are a team who are playing on house money right now and there is nothing, which will separate them from the destiny at this point of time. The Cardinals will have to grit a lot to get the job done.
The MLB World Series 2011 is going to have a showdown between two of the finest teams in the League, Rangers and the Cardinals. Only time will tell, which team will hold its nerves better in the seven games that are to be played between the two teams?
Recap of the 2011 Baseball Season
After an absorbing regular season, the 2011 MLB postseason has generating a lot of interest, in both the
followers of the game as well as in the world of betting. The Red Sox and the Braves stumbled toward
the end of the regular season.
Their Rays and the Cardinals were quick to take advantage of their slip up.
The Diamondbacks were sleek all season and the Texas Rangers were able to keep at bay the challenge
from the Angels. And after some dramatic matches we have the final two to battle it out to claim the championship trophy.
Many people anticipated Yankees or Red Sox to make it to the World Series, but that is not what happened. For the second year, Texas Rangers will face the St. Louis Cardinals, who has been playing a good ball game.
Cardinals are surely going to be the team to beat in this year’s World Series.
New York Yankees (4/1) did not finish the regular season strongly with a four-game losing streak. But it
must be remembered that they had lost some key players such as A-Rod and Jeter to injury. In spite of
such loss, they were able to maintain a comfortable lead in AL East and finished with a record of 97-65.
That they are a consistent team and have a history of success has allowed them to be at the second spot
on the favorite’s list.
Detroit Tigers with odds of 7/1, the Tigers are also one of the top contenders for this year’s World Series.
They won the AL Central comfortably by 15 games and have serious talent in players such as Justin
Verlander and Doug Fister.
Tampa Bay Rays (8/1) showed some great resilience at the end of last season when they overcame a
deficit of nine games to qualify for the play-off. They came back after trailing by seven runs against the
Yankees in their last game. The miraculous qualification, partly helped by the tremendous loss of form
of the Red Sox, has brought in a lot of positivity in the team. So the Tampa Bay Rays will surely not be
lacking in confidence and will believe that anything is possible.
The remaining four teams for the playoffs – Texas Rangers (8/1), Arizona Diamondbacks (14/1),
Milwaukee Brewers (15/2), and St. Louis Cardinals (14/1) – all have decent odds to win the World Series.
Only time will tell who will emerge as the ultimate champions.
