With the NFL season coming up in a little over a month there are teams gearing up for the season getting new players and coaches on the same page.  The American Football Conference (AFC) has been the powerhouse conference in the past and is looking to continue the trend this year.

The New England Patriots, who are in the AFC East will remain as a powerhouse with Brady and Moss returning the key additions to the defense will be a key factor this year in the AFC East.  The AFC East will be pretty competitive with the Miami Dolphins, who continues to gain stronger each year on both sides of the ball.  Miami’s defense was one of the top defenses in the league finishing 7-9 last year, that is a young and aggressive team looking to gain respect.

The New York Jets have been picked to be a factor in the AFC with the loss of running back Thomas Jones in the off-season.  Although, the Jets lost Jones they picked up wide receiver Santonio Holmes in the off-season giving quarterback Mark Sanchez more targets on the field.
