The first week of the college football season concludes on Monday night as Florida State hosts Miami of Florida in a game that can be seen on ESPN. This has the potential to be a good one as Florida State is one of the favorites in the ACC while Miami is a serious contender.

He also has talented receivers in Aldarius Johnson, Thearon Collier, Travis Benjamin and LaRon Byrd. The Miami defense returns eight starters and should be improved this season.

Florida State returns quarterback Christian Ponder who should be improved after throwing 14 TDs and 13 interceptions last season. The running game should be led by sophomore Jermaine Thomas who averaged 7 yards per carry in limited action last season. Only five starters return on defense but the secondary is solid with safeties Jamie Robinson and Korey Magnum.
