NFL 2009 Football Season Predictions – AFC
With another new season of the NFL returning there is again a lot of interest about the 2009 NFL AFC predictions and it seems that the teams are extremely close to each other this season and the AFC 2009 prediction will not be easy.
It is therefore quite difficult to predict which of the 32 teams in the fray would be able to conquer all the challenges and will lift the Vince Lombardi trophy at the end of the season. Here we provide you some free NFL predictions so that you have an idea as to where some of the teams stand at the start of the season.
Baltimore Ravens
The Pittsburgh Stealers have been the nemesis for the Ravens who beat them thrice during the course of the last season including the playoffs. Joe Flacco will be crucial to their chances and much will depend on his production.
Buffalo Bills
A lot for the team will depend on its quarterback Trent Edwards and how he performs in helping the offense to run properly. He will also have to make an effort to keep Terrell Owens satisfied, not an easy task for any quarterback.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals should have tried to build their team during the off season which they did not and even with the return of Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson, things look a bit grim for the team.
Cleveland Browns
Another team which should have done a lot more than what they have actually done during the off season. Instead of making effective changes to the team, the changes has been cosmetic in bringing in a new coach, whose winning record at best is inconsistent. Seems most likely that the Browns will again have a miserable year.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos have a new coach in Josh McDaniels and much will depend on how he gels with the team and gives the team a direction.
Houston Texans
The Texans have been making a steady progress over the past few seasons and this time around they have been favored with a good schedule. If they perform up to their potential they can make it to the playoffs.
Indianapolis Colts
Losing Tony Dungee will affect the Colts and they will need to make a quick transition. They have the personnel they need to come on top of their division but will be challenged by Tennessee and Houston.
Jacksonville Jaguars
After their last years showing, nobody is showing much interest in the Jaguars. And that is when they are at their best, when they don’t have a lot of expectations on their shoulders.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are not expected to win the playoffs but they have a good chance of making to the playoffs because the other teams in the division are equally weak.
Miami Dolphins
Last season the Dolphins made a remarkable come back which was nothing short of a miracle. Unfortunately miracles don’t happen every day or every year and it is supposed that the Dolphins will have a very tough season this year.
New England Patriots
The odds on favorites this year, the Patriots, buoyed by the return of Tom Brady are all set to regain the title from the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have a history of doing well with whatever team they have got, and Brady’s inclusion can be crucial.
New York Jets
The Jets have a big game right at the beginning of the season against Houston and a lot will depend whether Mark Sanchez is able to take to the field. The Jets need a ood start to progress further.
Oakland Raiders
The form of JaMarcas Russell has not been inspiring to say the least and the Raiders need to do something with the quarterback position. Drafting in Garcia can be helpful.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The defending champions look good for this season as well. Their game against Baltimore will be crucial for the division.
San Diego Chargers
The Chargers have a great offence and if they manage to do something about their consistency they can be a real threat to the other teams in the league.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans will depends on Kerry Collins and Vince Young to deliver the goods for them. How much they would be able to contribute will determine the fate of the team.
